You have been a loyal, unflinching fan for a long time--I bet this is very exciting for you too. Having known Danica since her karting days, there is nothing fake about her--she is very intense, and was that way as a karter--she takes after her Dad for intensity. I am so hoping this break-thru race is just the first of many--I would love to see her rack them up before the "transition" drivers learn how to race on ovals.

I'm a helio fan all the way, but i'm happy for her, agr, and the IRL. Yes Helio will have the points lead, but a rahal wins, the 1st female driver wins, and unification. 2008 will be remembered! and i can say is i'm proud!

I really wish it hadn't taken her this long but I'm glad this finally happened, if not for her sponsors, team, fans, friends and family, then for her alone. I remember hearing radio feed from her last year at Michigan after Franchitti's air stunt and her unfortunate flat tire, cracking in her voice as she said, "I just want this pressure off my shoulders." Very long overdue, but due nonehtheless. Congrats Danica. What an amazing year for you and this sport.
Miera's gotta be feeling the heat.

Awesome race, way to go Danica. Hopefully this is just the first of at least a few this year. It's been a long time coming and well deserved.
Only drawback was that the live broadcast wasn't in HD (ESPN Classic). Can't wait to see it again in HD today!

i was at indy the day danicamania started. this is not only a great great day for her. its a great day for indy cars too. there talking about her on nascar coverage too!! its marvelous. she drove a great race and showed she's more than a pretty face. well done danica! me and my wife did cry together it was one of those moments

The live broadcast was excellent, even if it wasn't in HD. I really enjoyed all the post-race footage too. I got a little teared up myself.

Yep. The live broadcast was excellent. It sucked that it was on Classic, but what can you do? I'm just happy that they aired it, and I'm sure it will be played again in entirety sometime this week for those who missed out on the post-race ceremonies.

I am so glad that they stayed with the post race festivities. Truly an amazing thing to see. Very happy to see her finally get the win she has been so close to. And it didn't take a crash-fest for her to get it. It was a total team effort. Awesome the way she blew by Helio to take the lead. I think she knew it was hers for the taking!
