it could happen. he's got the experience, and come so close so many times. he is due, but it seems so hard to break through the strangle hold of the big 3 right now. but beyond the big three teams, i think he has the best shot. i'd love to see him win, such a nice guy.
I think my dark-horse money is on Tomas. He didn't have as good of a pole day as he wanted, but I expect him to be very strong on race day.
I would not completely dismiss the top transition teams. In the race, they run with much more downforce, so a good handling car with good pitwork and strategy can make up for some lack of top speed. I think Rahal, Wilson and Power will be in the mix near the end if they can stay out of trouble and get some decent track time this week.
Milka Duno...she's due.

Seriously now...while I reserve the right to change my mind later since we sill have lots of practice and qualifying to go, my dark horse right now is Darren Manning. I think he's been up to 222+ so far, so his car isn't one of those hopeless cases. It might be a stretch to think that the Foyt team can keep him in contention over such a long race. But, right now, I think he looks like the best of the rest.
I've got to go with Will Power. He's really starting to pick up the pace there at Indy quickly now that he's had some practice time.
YES..I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE, THAT NOTICED NEWMANS 'LOOK'..SO THAT WOULD INDEED BE A SWEET VICTORY!..
What about Buddy Rice? D&R have been pretty good thids month. I was surprised by how well Townsend Bell did. But Vitor and Scheckter are the most likely to be the potential spoilers.
