Danica predictions?
My thoughts are that this year is Danica's year for her first win, and likely two or three. With this being her second season with a top-tier team and second full year with the Dallara chassis, she's more comfortable with the team and the equipment. We know that she has the focus and determination, and now with the familiarity with the equipment and team it should fall into place.

I sure hope so...she showed many times last year she could "tangle w/ the boys" up front... and she was passing two at a time at Kentucky... she has it in her and I (and my daughter) hope she gets that illusive first win (w/ a win or two more to follow) She was soooo close to Pole at both Indy and Mid Ohio this year... :)

I expect she'll get a win on a mid-sized oval, but two or three wins? I doubt it. She does have talent and equipment, but to win three events is a tall order against competition like Dixon, Kannan, Wheldon, and Helio.

The influx of new talent will also hurt, but she has shown she can run at the front, so usually after that its only a matter of time and luck. Even the Chicago Bulls had to advance in stages before they ripped off all of those championships. She certainly has the team now.

I'm a huge fan but I also doubt that she will win multiple races. Danica is what keeps me interested in racing and as long as she is on the track, I'll be watching. She has a 900 lb gorilla on her back, placed there by all the external expectation imposed on her, combined with her own fierce desire to win but for a small woman, she seems to have broad enough shoulders to handle the weight, so to speak. Go baby. Kick it up to what it takes.

Yes, I would have to think that alot of the planets are lined up this year. As she said in an interview, this is the first season in a while where she is stable and not changing things around. So she is comfortable with the car, the team, etc. So I think this could be the year. And with some of the CCWS drivers still getting up to speed with the new car/circuit, that also may be to her advantage this year.

I would put money on her having one win this season and I hope she does! She is an excellent driver and knows how to handle her car, but she seems to get thrown off her game a bit by her emotions. Instead of helping her focus more, it seems to do the opposite.

Everything has to roll her way in order to win, but I think Danica will win a race this year.

I want to see some testing before I go too crazy at the betting window. But, even with the expanded field that includes some talented teams, right now, aside from all Sports Illustrated lust... :-D ...I truly believe that she will get her first win in 2008. But, I'm not putting any more than $20 on it...I want to see some testing results before I call on Mr. Grant or Mr. Franklin. ;-)

KoHoSo mentioning wagering got me thinking... Just what would the line be on Danica winning 1, 2 or 3 races? Here's my take.
1 Win pays 3:2
2 Wins pays 4:1
3 Wins pays 10:1
That would be my pay-out. I think the true odds would be more like 2:1, 5:1, 20:1
