Paul Newman, the legendary actor whose steely-blue eyes, good-humored charm and advocacy of worthy causes made him one of the most renowned figures in American arts, has died, his spokeswoman told CNN today. Newman was 83. He died of cancer Friday at his home in Westport, Connecticut, said spokeswoman Marni Tomljanovic.
quality man and some one will be much missed. from films to racing a man who gave and presented quality to the highest standard. i guess in my own little way there's a lyric that could be applied to him "i keep hoping that the lord don't slow me down"
Just heard a great quote from Mario Andretti on Newman's death: 'He lived the life of three men, and will never be replaced by anyone." The "three men" would presumably be actor, racer, businessman/philanthropist.
