The place for all INDYCAR fans

many moons ago. i wasn't a nfl fan then i took a holiday to america and on monday night there was a game. it had my attention and when i got home to england, i bought madden and from there i was hooked on american football. (my wife wonders why we pay so much for satelite and i watch nfl network so much). but any way the whole growth of my interest in american football came from a american football game. so to help growth of the reunified indycar series why not have a good computer game. keep a good level of realism to it don't make a arcade style of game include all the tracks and a some what up to date roster of drivers and teams. one of the greatest games ever to be made for motorsports was nascar 2003. as great as this game was a more accesible game would be brilliant and would help me to not have to drive nascar for the 3 to drive ovals. cause wizzing round at silly speeds is always fun.

It's being worked on
By whom? Last I read, Codemasters last held the rights, and they were loathe to work on a new version after the 2005 game fell flat. I'd love to see it, but so far the only recent IRL-related games have been the historical games for the Wii and DS.

The only Indycar Series PC video game I play is 2003 season with the 2002 roster. I want to new video PC game that has all the new drivers, teams & tracks.
The official Indycar racing game that came out a few years ago by Codemasters was garbage. I use NASCAR racing 2003 modded for indycars. NASCAR heat had a good indy mod too. It seems that there is not much enthusiam for people to paint indycars for the NASCAR mod outside of Danica though. I hope that Indycar can license out to a company that will make a good sim like the old Papy guys. I would like to see a good PC sim, but it appears that everything is console these days.NO EA!!!!!!!!!!!!
i had the indycar mod for nascar 03 it would be nice thou to have a game. consoles are were the money is.
Absolutely, Joey. PC MMOs are still profitable, but most other genres have moved, or are in the process of moving, to the consoles. For racing games, the best sims are still on the PC. rFactor and iRacing are tops right now, and there are a few user-mods for rFactor, and iRacing is on the rapid rise. If you're looking for a genuine sim racer, these two are the best out there now. A packaged sim in the style of NASCAR 2003, or Gran Turismo, as far as I've heard isn't on the horizon. Dex, if you've got a scoop, fill us in!!! :D
I can't right now, but I'm working on something.
rfactor looks a awesome game but i have a mac so i can't play it being as mac users tend to get sneered at by computer games. as for forza motorsport, that is awesome simply awesome! a wonderful game and almost worth buying a xbox 360 for. my favorite motorsport game ever was grand prix 2 on the pc. the manual also had tips on how certain adjustments would affect the car. which is something i would like to see more. cause i'm not a engineer for williams so don't know whats going on half the time. i think a forza motorsport esque indycar game would be perfect.
There is a strong chance that a high end sim will be available via the www.iracing.com service but that is more for drivers than casual gamers.
Ok, Marco. :P
Get rfactor, you can race anything with wheels. I have the 07 and 08 Indycar season mods and its not bad.
