Anyone been using XM radio to listen to the races?

After last year attending 4 different races and trying (in some cases with little success) to find a local FM or AM station that covered the race, this year we decided to purchase a couple of portable XM radios to take to the races.

I had heard good reports from some that have used these at the races, but wanted to see what others experiences have been if they have used them or not.

I went to Texas last year with a scanner and a portable AM/FM radio. Couldn't find the broadcast station on the radio, so had to listen via the scanner. The scanner "locks" on to the broadcast, so you don't get the drivers breaking in unless you lock out the broadcast. I was a little frustrated with it. Later found out that they delayed broadcasting the race to the outside public. I'm not sure if that's why I couldn't find the station on the radio or not. I think the XM radio deal would be great, but there is a monthly charge and the radio itself is kind of expensive. I'm going back to Texas this year, but I'm going to arm myself with two scanners rather than purchase an XM radio subscription.
We had thought about the scanner option as well. Personally, I've gone that route before, and while occasionally it's nice to hear the drivers, most of the time I'd rather just listen to the broadcast.

As for the price, I had come across some good deals on eBay for some gently used portable XM radios, (basically 2 radios for less than 1 would normally be new.) Since XM allows you to purchase a subscription in quarterly increments, we figure we'll only need to get a subscription for half the year, so that makes it somewhat more tolerable.
Yes, two or three times in 07 while driving in Northern NJ and Connecticut. Reception is excellent - the production quality is OK - tend to focus on five or six drivers with a Danica update every two minutes - maybe one on track reporter.
We don't have XM radios but i will keep an eye out on this discussion to see if you get any good or bad reports.
I used it last year at Michigan due to the fact I couldnt get ESPN Classic and the broadcast was in my opinion excellent. I sat in my moms car during the race so I could hear what was going on!!
