Roth speed at second Homestead testing session

Did anyone check out the speed that Roth seems to have picked up at Homestead in the second testing session along with the CCWS drivers? It seems that Roth may actually be able to run with the pack so to say. His speeds yesterday when compared with the first practice session times (I know different days, so hard to judge) puts him right up in the middle of the pack.

In meeting many of the drivers over the past few years, Marty Roth is by far one of more accessible drivers, and certainly more than willing to talk to any fans. It would be great to see him finish somewhere other than the back of the pack. I'm sure his sponsorship he picked up at the end of last year has been a great help with getting some better tech work on his cars.

I was very happy to see Marty find some speed. I wonder how much help Jay was in getting Marty and his team up to competative snuff.
Very good to see this team find some speed that has been lacking for some time.
1 25 Roth, Marty D/H/F Practice 2 25.1203 212.816 117

Holy Crap! Is this for real??? That puts him 5th overall!!!

5 2 Foyt IV, AJ D/H/F Practice 2 25.1059 212.938 223
6 3 Castroneves, Helio D/H/F Practice 1 25.1211 212.809 293
I guess we can count Roth as one of the teams that has benefited from the increased monies available for teams running the entire season with more than one car. It would seem that it has enabled him to get some good tech people in his garage that are really stepping up to the plate. Very impressive, will be anxious to see how he does in traffic this year.
I believe he will do much better this year. After a test like that, you get a big confidence boost. Like most other endeavors, knowing you CAN do it, helps you be able TO do it!
