Mr. H. years ago I never thought I would see the day that Danica would be sooooo important to indy car racing--but now I see she is even more important to the success of NASCAR racing. She will be the "shot in the arm" ARCA, Nationwide and cup needs and I'm behind her 100 per cent. Yes, she can do it--no doubt in my mind. She is going to be a very busy gal; but she likes it that way. And if the Daytona ARCA race is her debut, then I hope I'm there to see it--after I attend the St. Pete Indy car race that is! Go Danica! Notice, she only has a one year Andretti contract.
If she makes the move she will not win a single race. It would be safe to say she will run in the back of the pack pretty much every race. Wouldn't that put a bigger frown on her face? You think she's unhappy now after most of the races, you haven't seen anything yet.
Joe, Danica will be smiling all the way to the bank--t-shirt, sweatshirt, hat sales--trust me--she will be very happy whether she finishes up front or in the back.
You're wrong Linda. She will put on her little mad face, and frown at the camera, and blame eveyone but herself for running in the back of the pack. I really think she want's to win, but I don't think she has a car to compete with the two main teams of the series. Plus, I don't think she is quite as good of a driver as a few of the guys out there. That's not to say she isn't good, she just isn't as good.
Several Chase drivers appeared on Regis and Kelly Thursday, and JP Montoya was asked about Formula 1--he stated the racing is so much better in Cup than Formula 1 and he likes where he is very much! I remember when he made his ARCA debut at the new Iowa Speedway--the first race at the Speedway alittle more than two years ago now. He was impressive even then. I'm sure Danica will sell thousands of tickets for her ARCA debut--whether it be Daytona or whereever. And I sincerely think she will surprise us with her abilities. Will she be an instant Jeff Gordon, Tony Stewart, Mark Martin--heck no but I think she will be more in control than you think. And I think she will be humble, respectful and appropriate. There are quite a few open wheel drivers in Cup now--too bad some of the cup drivers don't try open wheel occasionally--I so hope starting times for the Indy 500 and World 600 change in order to accommodate drivers from both series to participate. BOTH series could use alittle "shot in the arm" Sports car raceer, Patrick Long, has just made a successful ARCA debut and I bet we will be seeing alot more of him--he is quite the driver--started young in karting!
Linda, it sounds like you follow napcar and arca a lot more than I do or even care to. You have more faith in Danica's ability than I do if she make the switch to napcar. If she goes, only time will tell, but I still say she brings up the back of the pack pretty much every weekend. Those cars are a different animal than what she is used to. If she moves over to napcar I could care less if I ever hear her name again. Danica who? My drivers are in the IRL and they are loyal to their IRL fans.
montoya flunked out of f1. its like ricky williams when he decided dope was better than running for the dolphins. montoya is a very different animal to danica. he's very talented and can drive anything if he wants. this guy in the space of 4 years won in f3000, won on ovals and road course driving a reynard in cart, won the indy 500 in a irl panoz (or G-Force) spec indycar, won in cart in lola and then won in a williams in f1. danica hasn't won consitently in anything. remember her only victory has been a fuel win at motegi.

if she has any desire she would wanna win the irl and indy 500 before trying NASCAR. Hornish Jr. had what to prove in indycar? 3 irl indycar wins and 1 indy 500 win. danica might wanna perfect her craft before dipping her feet in something as complex as nascar.
