The place for all INDYCAR fans

I posted this on IndyCar.com Talkback. Just wondering what you all think. To generate interest in the ICS, I think we should re-institute the Triple Crown. This prize would show case a driver's skills on flat ovals,, super-speedways and/or "cookie-cutter" ovals and road courses. So the proposal is:

1) The Indy 500
2) a 500-miler at a cookie-cutter
3) a 500km race at a road/street course

The prize money for the driver that wins all three is $2M. If the prize is not won in a given year then that year's prize rolls over into the next and keeps rolling over up to a maximum of $10M. The winner also gets a replica of the Vanderbilt Cup (since I don't think the Smithsonian will let it out of their hands). So what say you all?

What's with the umbrella girls?...
I like the idea of umbrella girls (guys for Sarah, Danica, and Milka?) and standing starts for road courses.

As for the triple crown, perhaps one of the short ovals instead of the 1.5mi ovals, but a 500km on a road course would be a good idea.
I have long been advocating the return of the Triple Crown in IndyCar. However, I would keep it a strictly oval prize...after all, it's the series champion who gets rewarded for being good at all types of tracks. Unfortunately, my plan cannot come to pass until either Fontana or Michigan are returned to the schedule (which would be the two-mile oval with Texas being the 1.5 and Indy the 2.5).

Hmmm...perhaps this as a compromise...have two Triple Crowns...one for ovals and one for street/road/airport courses. Make the other one...hmmmmm...let's see...Long Beach, Watkins Glen, and either Sears Point or Mid-Ohio (or my dream of a return to Road America) and we could have something here! Name the road/street course one the Dan Gurney Cup (with the appropriate sponsor tagged on, of course) to not cause so much confusion.

And, of course, add plenty of umbrella girls. :-D
I LOVE the idea of a new triple crown. Champcar had a Canadian triple crown two years ago which was VERY well recieved by both fans and drivers. The crown was won by...Graham Rahal. Of course this would mean the addition of another Canadian course, but here's what I see. Keep the $2mill. idea, but split it up. $1mill. for the US Triple Crown(Ovals only because the Canada triple crown would be all road/street courses) and $1mill. for the Canadian Triple Crown.
I had already forgotten all about the Canadian Triple Crown. That would also be great to have in IndyCar if they ever could bring back Montréal (my preference) or Vancouver.

Then, if you added that onto my ideas above, we could also have the Triple Triple Crown! And, you know what that means, right?

Triple the umbrella girls! :-D
