Danica Staying in the IndyCar Series for three more years and possible series sponsor news

News out of Indianapolis is that Danica Patrick has signed a three year contract to remain with her current team, Andretti Green Racing. Patrick reportedly signed the contract last week at Motegi, and will remain with her Motorola-based sponsorship. In other good news for the IndyCar Series, Terry Angstadt, the president of the Indy Racing League's commercial division, said Thursday that the series is close to signing a title sponsor for 2010 and beyond. The company IRL officials have been talking to is Phillips-Van Heusen, which has Izod as a brand. Izod is already in partnership with IndyCar.

The onus is now on Michael Andretti to put his star driver in cars that can truly challenge the Ganassi and Penske boys as well as the newer younger comers. Considering the slough that AGR has been mired in this season, it's amazing and admirable that Danica has gotten to P5 in the standings, even if she and Helio are both out of the money for the championship.Come on Micheal, you got her, now maximize her in 2010 and beyond!
I think next year will be a better with AGR and a few other teams maturing as well. Danica has done great this year with subpar cars. Hopefully these new teams coming into the series will bring more great drivers to us.
staying in the IRL was the smartest move she has made all year. I guess we will re-live all this nonsense in three more years.
I am curious to see where AGR goes now that Michael is sole control. It would be great to see Danica, TK, and yes Marco get in to victory lane.
I doubt DP would sign if she didn't believe Michael could deliver a fast car. Sure she wants to make money, but she also wants to WIN! Great news from my perspective...
As of yet, there is no sponsor for Marco--and since money makes everything happen, I'll be curious to see if Marco even gets a sponsor for 2010. And I've heard from very reliable sources, none of the Andretti/Green drivers had cars to compete with Chip or Roger's drivers this year. Will 2010 be better? Guess we will just have to wait and see. I'm happy about the title sponsor--now mention your personal happiness when you buy the men in your life those Christmas shirts--these sponsors need to hear from us--loud and clear--Final comment--guess Motorola really, really, likes Danica--the BRAND. Final Final Comment--I'm betting Chip takes the Sprint Cup championship and the Indy championship--now that would be quite an achievement!
