Foyt's 3rd car, Tomas Scheckter, and Andretti - All rumors from around the Indy Garages
Rumors’ circulating throughout the Motor Speedway is that Tomas Scheckter could be a possibility to fill the 3rd Foyt entry which is the #48 car. The problem with this situation is that Foyt has been approached by John Andretti (Foyt is John Andretti’s God Father) about using the tub to fix his wrecked Petty/D&R machine. Foyt told Andretti that he wouldn't be able to help him because then he wouldn't be able to run Scheckter in the 48.
Andretti then brought to the table that Petty/D&R could help sponsor the 3rd foyt car with Andretti as the Driver. I know confusing, but imagine the possibilities of a Foyt Car sponsored by a Petty that is driven by an Andretti. What a winners circle that would be.

This mornings rumor is that Scheckter signed with Dale Coyne and will be on track today. (Friday)........

I would love to see Tony come back and race Indy again... but not right... I think down the road one of his goals would be in a similar position as to Penske and Ganassi. He would be able to own teams in NASCAR and IndyCar.
