A partial verdict has also been reached against Helio's sister Kati......and a full verdict has been reached against Attorney Miller.....all verdicts are remaining sealed at this time.
I'm incllined to agree with you. It doesn't look good for Helio right now, does it?
Helio WILL NOT race Long Beach, even if a not guilty came last night or this morning. Penske doesn't prep at the last minute, he's more presice then that. He would have had to know by Wednesday to be in Long Beach this weekend. You can bet Helio will be in Kansas next weekend, when the not guilty verdict is read soon. I saw an attorney this morning on the news say that had Helio been found guilty on the two counts that have come back already, the prosecution likely would have said, good enough, we got him, move on, but since the judge told the jury to continue and resolve the other counts, it actually looks more positive for Helio....but that was just the thoughts of this attorney I saw on tv this morning.....I hope he's right.
As everyone knows by now, Helio was acquitted on 6/7 counts of tax evasion along with his sister and their attorney! WAHOO!!! I am so excited that I could go dance a happy jig!! I had to restrain myself at work today because no one follows Indy racing, except for one person and this person was all the way at the other end of the building so I had to walk down to her desk to do a little cheer with her. YAY!!!!!! Even if Helio isn't racing at LB, it's nice to know that he will be at Kansas next weekend!! I now see why the judge withheld the two verdicts and I'm glad the jury came to a unanimous verdict on almost everything. I didn't want to see Helio rot in jail for 6 years. I don't think he would last very long.
