I understand that Comcast/NBCUniversal wants to increase traditional ratings. However, I feel this move is very selfish and bad for the series. IndyCar needs all of the exposure it can get despite all of the recent good press and general momentum it seems to have. IMO, the gains made by Versus will be negligible. Meanwhile, people without Versus (which includes all potential fans outside of the United States of America) will either lose interest or go to, shall we say, "alternative means" through which to watch the events. The latter seems especially ridiculous to me as Versus could actually count those watching online and send them targeted ads...not to mention that they are pulling a NASCAR-like move in trying to ignore new media and especially how the younger generations like to have their content where and when they ant it and not be tied to a TV screen.
