i presume that will powers car won't carry any team penske branding? due to the philip morris contract?
I think the philip morris contract is over. The Indy Star said it was due to "a change in sponsorship."
Power's uniform has a small Team Penske logo on it.
These cars look great! The different end plate colors for each car is a wonderful idea. I'll miss the old colors, but honestly glad that Phillip Morris is gone.
I agree, the cars look great. Wouldn't say I am glad to see Phillip Morris is gone though. They spent MILLIONS each year and brought a LOT of people to each race. They were a good sponsor for the series.
Well, after being a smoker for 20+ years I would normally agree with you. But as for now........if Penske quit........then maybe I should too.

VIVA LA PENKSE!!!!!!!
Is Roger footing the bill for Helio and Ryan? Verizon is only an associate sponsor for the #3 and #6 from what I hear.
I had e-mailed Curt C at the Star late 09 on that topic. He had contacted TC at Penske who indicated they were funded for 2010 but Curt speculated that amount was reduced from Phillip Morris which allowed them to change the color scheme. Now, a LOT could have changed between now and then as the press release from Penske makes it seem like Phillip Morris is gone all together.
I talked with someone from the IRL and he said Philip Morris is gone...a lot had to do with government regulations on tobacco advertisement.
Gone maybe but what kind of agreement did they have with Penske. It might be gone but still giving them a check to honor contractual obligations. Which may be why they are "funded for 2010."
Dear Back Seat----you are too funny but so very right on!
