i've thought about something, i've thought about something dexter has pointed out, i've also just quickly read marshall pruett's article on speedtv.com (http://auto-racing.speedtv.com/article/pruett-say-no-to-kee-rock/) and i have to say this. Brian Barnhart go and go now. your purpose is doing only something to harm the growth of indycar. your STUPID insistence on a single car. WE ALL KNOW LOLA, SWIFT AND DELTA WING DON'T STAND A CHANCE. its dallara, all the way and thats just plain wrong. indycar pre-stupidity (meaning pre spilt) was a top line series. infact in brazil, they had more viewers for indycar races than f1, and this was during the time of the greatest racing driver of all time Ayrton Senna (still remember him dying). and in this GREAT series they had many chassis, penske's, lola's and reynards. they had mercedes, ford, honda and chevy. indianapolis attracted drivers to race at it who had just won world championships. Nigel Mansell. they didn't have to rely on a average driver racing NASCAR to make headlines. THEY MADE THE HEADLINES.
fast forward to 2010, a series in a poor state, still coming too after the spilt. then the prospect of the new car, it will be a new car. not the new cars from lola, swift, dallara and delta wing. but dallara. it will be dallara cause barnhart drove panoz out to make dallara happy (new floor in 04). indycar isn't spec racing and as such the point of the delta wing car promotes itself. ben bowbly says that the car isn't to be a spec car. its to be a rules guideline i guess. which make sense to a indycar fan. honda more than likely will be the engine. however remove the other stupid insistence on a badge manufacturer engine (this drove cosworth out in 2006 after chevy left, they weren't allowed to race the engine with a manufacturer badge). so ok.
do this (or am i talking to a brick wall)
open chassis formula, restrict certain things and push the same things there trying to push now. but allow more people in.
engine formula would be 2 liter turbos, but you can have a choice of cylinders ranging from a V4 to a V8 but the rev limits would suit each engine.
the car's look is scary admitly, my jaw still hurts from hitting the floor, but the message is simple, no spec racing. and brains are needed in racing. there's a another ross brawn/ ben bowbly out there (he designed the 2002 lola in champ car).
