I still can't watch it. I don't have direct TV. Leave it to Indycar to make a tv deal like this.
I live in a small town that has one cable provider. I don't really want a dish so there goes any option for my chances of getting versus. But the way I see it, if this series didn't have it's head up their a$$, they wouldn't have picked a network like versus. I look at the coverage UFC gets on Spike, and I wonder why they didn't go with a channel like Spike? It's a channel that most of America probably has, go figure.
Figured as soon as we added cable on top of our directv pkg just to get versus that dtv would finally work something out. Love paying 200 hundred somethin bucks a month since adding cable to satellitte! Oh well, at least more fans have access again. Good deal!!! Anybody have an opinion on versus all around race day presentation as opposed to ABC? Seems like when Versus has the telecast it's a more exciting presentation with better camera angles, etc. ABC's coverage seems too flat and regimented.
Ouch Eric! I gotta say you have definitely earned elite hardcore fan status for adding cable just to watch the races. I'm not worthy! I'm not worthy!
I want to thank Tony George for merging the two groups--I honestly don't think we would be watching Indy Car racing if he had not merged them--Tony wasn't perfect--most men at the top seldom are--but he did bring Formula l, new garage and Pagoda, Safer Barriers (no matter what NASCAR says) and alot of other innovations--and he spent alot of family money keeping the sport afloat as he saw it. Whereever Tony is today, I wish he and Laura the best--his son, Anton (Tony Jr.) helps to manage Firestone Indy Lights and nieces and nephews are employed by the track and league so I guess the wonderful traditions of the Hulman George family will continue long after I'm gone. A special thank you to sister, Josie, for finding Randy Bernard--looks like he is going to be a definite asset. I don't feel nearly as pessimistic about the sport as I did a few months ago. The next "battle" will be over the proposed new car--and I predict it will be a huge battle. And regarding Danica, I don't think there was much to say about Danica this weekend--it was a tough qualifying and tough race for her--when the ovals arrive, hopefully she will shine--I seriously doubt if Randy Bernard tells Versus what to cover and what not to cover; and from all the commercials she was in during the broadcast, I think Danica is very important to the series, the networks and her fellow competitors.
Thanx Joshua!
