'Bout time someone recognized Danica's significance as a female athlete competing against men. She was voted "Most Popular" in a Harris poll. Not that some of the female golfers could not beat some of the men golfers head to head but Danica is acquitting herself admirably in a sport dominated by men, even whiny ones like Scott Dixon,who is not content to savor his victories but has to snipe at Danica everytime she has the temerity to get on the track.

This seems to be an ongoing monologue, since no one of Danica's supposed fans ever bothers to post but it it is brutally hot out and I had to take a break from breaking rocks , so I thought I'd editorialize about Danica. Considering all the vicissitudes of this season, including Marcos' Nth time stupidity, this time at Edmonton and this time completing the hat trick of having taken out all his team mates at one time or another this season, Danica remains in 6th place. Despite all the naysayers saying the transition drivers would grind her into the dirt, push her way down in the standings she drives strong and consistent and smart. I hope I live to see the day that she is able to pass that smug, arrogant Dixon on the track, at speed and beat him. It may never happen but he keeps winning and whining about her being in his way. Gracious winner, Scott. She is still on the outside of the elite and they are a formidable lot. It will take all she has to possibly crack that top 5 but I am ever hopeful and will be a devoted fan no matter what she does and what the press spins about her. The accomplishment for a woman of her physical stature is really quite amazing. She is the living embodiment of the "size of the dog in the fight" aphorism. Go girl!

Jeeeze, Danica is P2 for Nashville but I guess all Danica's fans are in a long summer's hibernation. Helooooooooooooo out there........any intelligent life in the universe....?

Howdy to the fans of the raven-haired one. I have been registered for a long time but utilized Talkback, which was more active than this site, which has been pretty sleepy but Talkback has become inundated with vicious, hateful, arrogant, snarky misogynists, who don't want her in ICS and whose sole reason to get up in the AM was to find another way to derogate Danica. It seems that this is turning out to be a real difficult year for Danica and , had it not been for Motegi, she would really be in exile. I'm hoping that Moyer and Michael are counseling her wisely and she is learning what she needs to do to solve her speed and handling problems and be more competitive, like she was in past seasons.She seems to have no bottom to competitive spirit and I hope she can work her way through this slough she is in. I noticed that on the site for Nashville Super Speedway, way over 50% of people polled want Danica to win, so she has strong support but she needs the smarts from AGR and to apply herself to get back on track (in every way). I think just about everyone can agree she needs work on restarts , which is woeful aspect of her game. Let's get behind our girl !
