"Totally agree Linda. She is far from stupid. She travels the world drivivg race cars, lives in a mansion in North Scottsdale, AZ, and has a huge wine cellar. Oh, she will get back to Indy 500 in a quality ride."

Paul replied to Squall's discussion A bloody fine Long Beach race
"If you like a strategy crapshoot, it was a good show. Turned out to be a game of luck. Everyone was searching for a strategy. AKA. Tough to do much on the track, have to do it in the pits."

Daddy of Equalizer replied to Paul's discussion Boycotting TX?
"@ PJ - How did Texas get burned before?  Were the CART drivers supposed to race there in 2001 even though they were getting dizzy and graying out after a few laps? Sure, they should have done more testing before finalizing a race deal, but they…"

1973 for sure. Art Pollard killed in time trials. Rain on race day. USAC started race late afternoon, for TV I'm sure. Rain was on horizon. 1st lap crash and fire with "Salt Walther". Couldn't get race going till third day, then Swede Savage's vicious crash and eventual death. Only got 133 laps in. Gordy Johncock won. Watched him race at my Uncles supermodified track in 1960. Took a huge race fan to stay through 3 days of that.
