"The overnight ratings are a tie. Coke 600 did 4.1/8. But if the past holds true, Indy final ratings will go down and Coke 600 will go up (to at least a 4.5). Either way both are still way off from Dayton 500 figures."

Patrick Carpentier

Never really heard why he gave up on IndyCar so early, but:

Canadian driver Patrick Carpentier says he will retire after the NASCAR Nationwide Series race next month at the Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve. "It's been a few years that I've thought about it," Carpentier told QMI Agency. "I discussed it with my wife. We talked about my situation on several occasions and I came to the conclusion that I must move on. I remember when I was speed skating. When I decided it was over, it…

Why no money won list in IndyCar?

Posted on June 30, 2011 at 11:58am 1 Comment

Other than the Indy 500, race payout and money won is never listed. Is Dan Wheldon the leading money winner in IndyCar having only run one race? Carl Edwards leads in NASCAR with one win and $5,037,194 in winnings, after 16 starts,  how does IndyCar payout compare? Are they still using the same system of a few yeas ago when every starting car was paid the same.

Anyone know how much IZOD pays to be a title sponsor?
